Island Hospital Jim Brown
Director, Materials Management and Environmental Services
Located in Anacortes, Island Hospital serves the communities of western Skagit County, north Whidbey Island and the San Juan Islands. Since 1992, Northwest Health Care Linen has partnered with Island Hospital to achieve their mission of delivering quality, compassionate and personalized health care to the communities they serve.
Jim Brown, Island Hospital’s Director of Materials Management and Environmental Services, has overseen all linen distribution and supply needs for the hospital and its six affiliated clinics since 1997. He noted that linen is essential to the hospital’s daily activities.
“A fundamental element required in delivering Island Hospital’s quality, compassionate and personalized health care is providing patients with quality linen,” Jim said. “Island Hospital could not function without Northwest Health Care Linen. We depend on them to meet our linen needs daily.”
Island Hospital holds themselves and their vendors to a very high standard, as excellence is expected from all who contribute to the hospital’s success. When working with Northwest Health Care Linen, Jim noted that their relationship has always been very professional.
“Working with Northwest Health Care Linen is like working with a great team of players who each know their role and play it in a professional manner,” Jim said. “I know we have a partnership built on integrity when Northwest Health Care Linen makes an effort to explore different ways we can collaboratively reduce Island Hospital’s expenses.”
Jim explained that Island Hospital’s relationship with Northwest Health Care Linen is much more than a standard vendor relationship.
“Our expectations are very high and Northwest Health Care Linen always meets them. They are always responsive and continuously meet with me to discuss new ways they can better assist us,” he said. “They have even driven off their scheduled route to personally deliver emergency linen that we needed.”
Island Hospital receives fresh linen from Northwest Health Care Linen on a daily basis and Jim expressed his assurance in the service he receives.
“We are very confident that they will consistently meet our linen needs on a daily basis,” Jim said. “I have worked with other linen companies in the past and there is just no comparison.”
