What is TexTrak™ and why should I want it?
TexTrak is a program offered by Northwest Health Care Linen that incorporates RFlD technology into linen and scrub wear management.
The latest innovation in tracking Scrub Wear, Garments, Linens, and other textiles is RFlD. While RFlD has been around for a long time, the technology is now growing in the textile market. Information specific to each item is electronically married to the unique RFID “chip” and sewn into the garment.
Capturing product details like color, size, and ownership lets us track each item at multiple points.
How TexTrak™ Improves Your Healthcare Linen and Apparel Rental Experience
With TexTrak, we log the exact delivery date to your facility, record when products return to our plant, count how many times we wash each item, and identify any lost pieces. This gives us full control to manage textile costs efficiently.
Linen loss/replacement is the second-highest operating cost after labor costs that a rental laundry incurs. RFlD is the future in rental laundry to further improve the receiving, shipping, and tracking of products while helping to reduce costs for our customers.
With the TexTrak program, we are able to “check out” scrubs to each customer, making sure you get the right quantity in the right size that you request. When staff return scrubs, operators use soil scanning to instantly read, record, and count hundreds of pieces in seconds. This eliminates the need for hand counting. The UHF-RFID system gives NWHCL real-time, accurate inventory data.
We now track customer-owned goods and cubicle curtains along with scrub wear. Hospitals actively focus on reducing infections by cleaning curtains more frequently, making regular tracking and maintenance essential.
